Eben Pratt joins Fit2Excel as Functional Strength & Movement Specialist

Functional Strength classes are now being offered Wednesdays at 6:30pm!

Functional movement refers to the body’s natural biomechanics. If you look at the body as a machine, we have a complex system of levers that are designed to be coordinated and move in a predetermined way. Unlike machines, when things become out of balance, or broken, we cant swap out parts or buy a new one. The human body’s ability to find away to get the job done is one of the most beautiful and potentially dangerous things. Deviation from the “normal” or “correct” movement, is knows as compensation. This can be caused by anything from injury, poor posture, or simply spending too much time sitting. We lose mobility, stability, and strength when we do not practice good movement.

We use a well established and certified Movement Screen and systematic method of administering movement correctives to ensure we find and strengthen good movement patterns that will improve bone, muscle, and joint health, decrease risk of injury, and increase our body’s longevity. Eben is also available for private sessions.
